Laerdal - Heartcode ACLS/PALS

At Laerdal, Haxe was used for the development of their Heartcode ACLS and Heartcode PALS eLearning simulations courses. Initially the development targetted the Flash platform which was reaching end-of-life so I joined the team to re-work the simulations to use OpenFL and target the web in HTML/JS.

Key developments:

  • Rework the existing code to work with OpenFL
  • Canvas rendering for the simulations through OpenFL
  • Optimise rendering processes
  • Performance
  • Ensure simulation functionality compared to the original Flash implementation
